Description
Tobramycin is a water-soluble aminoglycoside antibiotic active against a wide variety of gram-negative and gram-positive ophthalmic pathogens. Tobramycin is a drug of choice in corneal ulcers & in pseudomonas infections. Tobramycin inhibits the protein synthesis of bacterias.
Dexamethasone is a steoid widely use in the ophthalmic preparations controls inflammation by inhibiting the inflammatory mediators.

Indications
Nebracin DM Drops and Ointment are indicated for steroid responsive inflammatory ocular conditions for which a corticosteroid is indicated and where superficial bacterial ocular infection or a risk of bacterial ocular infection exists.

The use of a combination drug with an anti infective component is indicated where the risk of superficial ocular infection is high or where there is an expectation that potentially dangerous numbers of bacteria will be present in the eye.

Dosage
Post operative- one to two drops 6 to 8 times a day. Frequency must be decreased gradually or warranted by improvement in clinical signs. Care should be taken not to discontinue the therapy prematurely.

Contraindications
Epithelial herpes simplex keratitis ( dendritic keratitis ) vaccinia, varicella, and many other viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva. Mycobacterial infection of the eye. Fungal diseases of ocular structures. Hypersensitivity to a component of the medication.

Storage
Store in a cool dry place. Protect from light.

NEBRACIN DM Eye drop is available in sterile FFS pack of 5 ml.
